Questions

Frequently asked questions

29 answers to what people actually ask before booking — grouped by what you are trying to work out. Where a question deserves more than a paragraph, the answer points at the guide that gives it.

Services and scope

What each service covers, and which one a property needs.

What is the difference between standard and deep cleaning?

Standard cleaning is a maintenance list — every room, every surface on the list, worked as a wipe. It keeps a house that is already at a baseline from slipping.

Deep cleaning is a different list aimed at buildup that has bonded to surfaces: grout, hard water, grease on cabinet fronts, baseboards along their length, ceiling fans, window tracks. It is not a slower standard clean.

The full comparison, with a five-point test

What is included in a standard clean?

Kitchen counters, cooktop, microwave, appliance exteriors, sink and floor. Every bathroom cleaned end to end. Beds made, surfaces dusted, mirrors and glass, floors vacuumed and mopped throughout, trash out.

Inside the oven, inside the refrigerator and interior windows are available on request and need booking in advance.

The full standard scope

Do you clean apartments and townhomes?

Yes, and both regularly. Apartments mostly need the access logistics settled — gate codes, parking, elevators, leasing office. Townhomes need planning around levels, stairs and bathrooms on more than one floor.

Apartment cleaning

Do you offer move-out cleaning?

Yes. It is a heavier scope than a normal visit and it is done on an empty property — inside cabinets and drawers, inside the oven and refrigerator, closet interiors, baseboards along their full length, and floors worked to the edges.

Move-out cleaning

Do you clean offices and other businesses?

Yes, and commercial is genuinely half of what we do. Offices, retail, restaurants, medical and dental practices, churches, schools and childcare, warehouses and convenience stores.

Commercial cleaning

What do you not do?

Carpet extraction and shampooing, floor stripping and sealing, exterior windows above ground level, kitchen exhaust hood and duct cleaning, grease trap service, pressure washing, and regulated clinical or hazardous cleaning.

Each of those is a licensed or specialist trade. We will tell you what a property needs, and we will not pretend to be the people who do it.

Booking and scheduling

How to book, what it commits you to, and how to change it later.

How does booking work?

Online, through the Hygiene Maids system. You describe the property, choose a service and frequency, see the price with any recurring discount already applied, then pick a date and tell us how we get in. Nothing is confirmed until you complete it.

Start a booking

How do the recurring discounts work?

A standing weekly schedule takes 20% off every visit, biweekly takes 15% and monthly takes 10%. The discount applies for as long as the schedule runs and comes off automatically at booking.

There is no code to remember, no minimum term, and no clawback of discounts you have already had if you stop.

How recurring cleaning works

Am I locked into a contract?

No. A recurring schedule has no minimum term and no cancellation fee. You can skip a visit, move it, change frequency or end the schedule at any point from your account.

Can I manage my booking online?

Yes. Your schedule, visit history and preferences all live in your Hygiene Maids account, and changes are made there rather than by arranging things with the cleaners.

Customer login

How far ahead should I book?

For a recurring schedule, whenever suits — the slot is then held for you. For a one-off tied to a date, as soon as you have the date. Single visits fill the gaps around recurring routes, and end-of-month move-out dates are the busiest in the calendar.

How are commercial services quoted?

After a walkthrough, not from a rate card. Facility type, restroom fixture count, headcount, floor types, service hours and frequency all move the number far more than square footage does.

You get a written scope listing what happens every visit and what rotates weekly, monthly and quarterly, with a price attached.

Access, pets, supplies and what actually happens while we are there.

Do I need to be home?

No, and most customers are not. Being there for the first visit helps you point out what matters and what to leave alone, but everything after that runs on the access details on your account.

Access options in full

Do you bring cleaning supplies?

Yes — products, cloths, vacuums and equipment all arrive with the team, with separate cloths kept for kitchen and bathroom areas.

If you would rather we used something you keep at home, for a stone counter or a particular floor finish, leave it out and tell us and we will use yours.

Products and surfaces

How long will it take?

A maintenance visit on a well-kept three-bedroom, two-bathroom home usually runs a couple of hours with a two-person team. A first deep clean of the same house is roughly twice that.

Bathroom count drives it more than floor area does.

Will I get the same cleaners each time?

On a recurring schedule, wherever scheduling allows. A team that knows your property is faster and better, so it is what we aim for. Holidays and illness occasionally make it impossible, and when they do your account notes travel with the job.

What about pets?

They are in most of the homes we clean. Tell us what lives there, whether a door needs staying shut, whether a cat must not get outside, and whether a dog is comfortable with people arriving.

Cleaning with pets in the house

Should I tidy before you arrive?

Clear surfaces, do not clean them. Every counter, table and floor that is clear is a surface we can clean rather than move things off. Actually cleaning first is paying for something and then doing it yourself.

How to prepare

Trust, cover and problems

Who we send, what happens if something goes wrong, and what we will not promise.

Are your cleaners background checked?

Every cleaner is vetted and background checked before their first visit to any customer property — before, not afterwards.

Are you bonded and insured?

Yes. Insurance covers accidental damage or injury during the work, and the bond covers theft. A certificate of insurance is available on request, which property managers and building offices ask for regularly.

What happens if something is missed?

Tell us within 24 hours and we come back and redo that area at no extra charge.

The guarantee covers cleaning we agreed to do. It does not cover pre-existing damage, wear that cleaning cannot reverse, work outside the scope you booked, or issues raised after 24 hours.

Will a move-out clean guarantee my deposit back?

No, and be wary of any cleaning company that says it will. A deposit decision is made by your landlord against your lease and covers things cleaning cannot affect — damage, wear, unpaid items and paperwork.

What a proper clean does is remove cleanliness as a reason to withhold it.

Can you get rid of hard water marks and stained grout?

Usually, where the deposit is sitting on the surface — that is exactly what deep cleaning targets. Where hard water has etched glass or stone, or grout is stained rather than soiled, the surface itself has changed and cleaning will not reverse it.

We will tell you which one you have rather than promising a result nobody can deliver.

Do you have reviews I can read?

We do not publish testimonials on this site, because we would rather show nothing than something we cannot substantiate. What we can point you at is the scope of each service written out in full, so you can see precisely what you are buying before you spend anything.

Areas and pricing

Where we work, and what decides what a visit costs.

What areas do you serve?

Carrollton is our home market and where most of our work is. We also cover Addison, Farmers Branch, Coppell, The Colony and Lewisville regularly, plus the Carrollton-adjacent edges of West Plano and Far North Dallas on request.

We deliberately do not claim the whole metroplex — a wide area is how arrival windows stop meaning anything.

How much does house cleaning cost?

It is priced from the property rather than from a table. Bathroom count, condition, frequency, occupancy and surfaces all move the number, and square footage is the weakest of the five.

The booking flow asks about those and shows a real price for your home before anything is confirmed.

What moves the price

Do you charge by the hour?

No, by the job. You see a price for the visit before you confirm it, so a team that works efficiently does not cost you more and a house that takes longer than expected does not either.

Is there a discount for commercial contracts?

Qualifying multi-day recurring commercial work can save up to 35%. Whether a specific building qualifies depends on how many days it needs and how the work groups, so it is settled at the quote rather than assumed.

Recurring commercial cleaning

How do I pay?

Through the Hygiene Maids booking system when you book. There is nothing to arrange with the cleaners at the door.

Next step

Ready to book?

Booking shows the price before anything is confirmed, and a recurring schedule can be changed or canceled at any point.
