The four questions

What the booking asks you, and why each one matters

The form is short because only a few things genuinely move the work. These are those things, and what a good answer looks like — getting them right is the difference between a price that holds and one that gets revised at the door.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

The size input, and the one people expect to be square footage. It is not. Bathrooms are the heavier of the two by a wide margin — a bathroom is fixtures, glass, grout and a floor in a confined space, and it does not get faster with practice the way a bedroom does.

Worth knowing: Count half baths separately. They are small, they are quick, and they still have a toilet, a sink and a mirror in them.

How long since the last proper clean

The condition input, and the one that decides whether a standard clean is the right scope at all. A house cleaned six weeks ago and a house cleaned six months ago are the same size and completely different jobs.

Worth knowing: This is the answer people round down on, almost always honestly. If you are hesitating between two answers, the longer one is usually the true one.

One-off, or a standing schedule

A one-off is a single visit at the full rate. A schedule takes a recurring discount off every visit — 20% weekly, 15% biweekly, 10% monthly — and it is applied at booking rather than claimed afterwards.

Worth knowing: A schedule has no minimum term and no cancellation fee, so choosing one is not a commitment you have to be sure about. It is cheaper than a one-off from the very first visit.

Date, arrival window and access

When you want the visit, and how the team gets in. Most customers are not home, and that is normal — the form takes a code, a lockbox, a key arrangement or a note that you will be there.

Worth knowing: Being home for the first visit is worth it even if you never are again. Ten minutes of pointing at things sets up every visit after it.

Getting ready

Half an hour of preparation buys you a better clean

None of this is required, and nobody will mind if you skip it. But a cleaning team’s time is finite, and every minute spent moving your things is a minute not spent cleaning underneath them. These are the things that convert directly into a better result.

Before the team arrives

  • Clear the flat surfaces you want cleaned — counters, side tables, the top of the dresser. A surface with things on it gets wiped around, not wiped.
  • Put away anything genuinely valuable or fragile. Not because of the team, but because nobody should have to make a judgement call about your grandmother’s vase.
  • Decide where pets will be, and say so. A dog that follows the vacuum is a slower clean and a stressed dog.
  • Pick up the floor. Toys, laundry and shoes are the single biggest drag on vacuuming time.

Worth saying out loud

  • Any room to leave alone entirely — a home office mid-project, a nursery with a sleeping baby, a room you simply would rather nobody entered.
  • Surfaces that need a specific product or none at all: unsealed stone, waxed wood, a screen, an antique.
  • Anything already broken. Saying so beforehand means nobody spends the visit wondering whether they did it.
  • The one thing that would make you judge the visit a success. People almost always have one, and it is almost never the thing a checklist would guess.

Before you book

Worth knowing

Which service should I choose?
If the house has been maintained, standard cleaning. If it has not had a proper clean in a long time, a deep clean first and then a schedule. There is a five-point test on the standard cleaning page if you are unsure.
Am I committing to anything?
No. A recurring schedule has no minimum term and no cancellation fee. You can skip a visit, move it, change frequency or end the schedule at any point from your account.
When is the discount applied?
At booking, automatically, if you choose a standing schedule. There is no code to remember and nothing to claim afterwards.
Do I need to be home?
No, and most customers are not. Being there for the first visit helps you point out what matters and what to leave alone, but everything after that runs on the access details you leave.
How long will the visit take?
A maintenance visit on a well-kept three-bedroom, two-bathroom home usually runs a couple of hours with a two-person team. A first deep clean of the same house is roughly twice that. Bathroom count drives it more than floor area.
Can I book for a business?
Commercial work is quoted after a walkthrough rather than priced online, because facility type changes the work far more than floor area does. Use the quote route instead.
